For several years, I have been recording the words that I don’t know, or perhaps have a vague understanding of their connotation.  This has been an effort to increase my own vocabulary.  In my book reviews, I list these words at the bottom.  And they are not all general vocabulary – some are people or places.  Unless otherwise noted, the definitions come from dictionary.com.  When things are not available from dictionary.com, I do take some information from Wikipedia.  I know many people have an issue with Wikipedia, but I’ve always found the general information to be accurate – and this is not exactly a scholarly work.
